“Fear not, the people may be deluded for a moment, but cannot be corrupted.”-Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson's Legacy

Picture
Whether you remember Andrew Jackson as a hero or a monster he had a huge impact on the American way of life and he made the U.S. what it is today. Jackson should however be remembered in a positive light, he opened up Georgia and Florida for gold miners and plantation owners to grow cotton. Jackson also saved the American economy from a corrupt charter bank. He created the spoils system, which is not all bad, it allows a president to get bills passed if everyone agrees with him. Jackson stopped South Carolina from seceding, if he hadn’t every time a state disagreed a revolution would happen and there would be 50 nations not 50 states. Jackson took government from the elite and allowed the common man to become involved. Jackson made mistakes, but who doesn’t? Everything considered, he was a hero.
